Railbike Adventure Routes
This route is a 4.2-mile round trip that heads west from the Depot and drops down the hill past a historic farm property and historic Old Town Erie. After passing the original Erie Depot site, riders cross the trestle at Coal Creek, Briggs Street and end at County Line Road. The return ride demands a little extra effort to climb back up the grade to the depot. Spectacular views are found throughout the ride.
Due to road construction, opening of this route is delayed to 2025. This 9-mile round trip heads west from Erie Station passes down through the hill cut, past the historic Boulder Valley Mine and Old Town Erie. The route continues west of County Line Road through the Wise Homestead Open Space all the way to Highway 287 before returning. This is our longest ride and will run limited departures.
